How Jet's Assisted Living & Memory Care
Referral Services Are Paid

Our senior placement service is completely free to families.

Assisted living communities and memory care facilities compensate us after your loved one moves in, from their marketing budgets. We believe you deserve to understand exactly how this works, so you can make an informed decision with complete confidence and peace of mind. Your loved one's needs come first. We offer unbiased support at no charge.

Our Compassionate Senior Care Services Cost You Nothing

Families never pay us directly. Our placement services, tours, education, and support come at no charge to you.

Assisted living communities compensate us with a standard referral fee after your loved one moves in. This is a common, long-standing model in California and across the U.S. for senior living referral services. The senior living community pays us from their existing marketing and occupancy budgets. Your monthly rent does not increase because of our involvement.

What families never pay:

  • No hourly fee
  • No consultation fee
  • No hidden charge added to your rent
  • No upfront costs of any kind

We know the phrase "free service" can raise questions. That's exactly why we address it openly and honestly with every family we serve.

Ethical Standards Behind Every Senior Living Placement

Our placement guidance is grounded in a clear ethical framework consistent with fiduciary best practices.

Neutrality

Families come to us for honest guidance, and we take that seriously. That means we stay impartial and focus on what will help the senior feel safe, supported, and at home. We provide options that align with care needs, lifestyle, and financial parameters, while the Power of Attorney or designated decision-maker makes the final call. We’ve built our business on transparency and trust, and we bring that standard to every recommendation.

Transparency

There’s no cost for families to work with us—no invoices, no surprise fees. We’re paid by senior living communities only after a successful move-in. That compensation doesn’t affect what your family is charged by the community.

Resident-centered decision-making

Our process is resident-centered from the start. We prioritize safety, dignity, and the level of support each individual truly needs, then narrow care options accordingly. Only after that do we weigh secondary factors like budget, setting, and preferences.

Respect for legal authority

Our guidance aligns with the instructions of the legally authorized decision-maker. At the same time, we work to honor the senior’s wishes and preserve what matters most to them, incorporating family input whenever possible.

Confidentiality and privacy

We take confidentiality seriously at every step. As a HIPAA-compliant service, we safeguard health and financial information and limit access to a true need-to-know basis, with proper authorization before anything is disclosed.

These standards protect both resident safety and legal/ethical compliance.

Which Assisted Living Communities and Care Providers Compensate Our Referral Services

Referral compensation typically comes from assisted living communities, memory care facilities, board and care homes (RCFEs), and some Life Plan Communities or CCRCs, depending on their policies.

Not every senior living community chooses to work with a referral agency. Some facilities prefer to handle their own admissions directly. If your family is a strong fit for a living community that does not have a referral agreement with us, we will still talk about that option. We can help you understand how to contact them directly.

Your loved one's well-being comes first. Our job as your senior placement advisor is to guide you to the right place, not just the places that pay us.

Why Transparency Matters More Than Ever for Seniors and Their Families

We've stood where you're standing. Jet has personally walked the dementia journey with her former mother-in-law, who lived with Dementia and Parkinson's. She's cared for other family members who needed higher levels of care. As caregivers in our own lives, we understand how vulnerable this process can feel.

That's why it's so important to us that you know exactly how we're compensated and why our help is no charge to families. Families are overwhelmed by our no-cost concierge service and can't believe our services are free to them.

We maintain transparency by:

  • Clearly explaining that assisted living communities compensate us, not families
  • Encouraging you to compare multiple senior living options, not just one
  • Letting you make the final decision—we guide you through it
  • Offering unbiased support based on your loved one's needs
  • Recommending only places that truly meet your loved one's care needs, personality, and budget
  • Welcoming your questions at any time

Our long-term reputation depends on doing what's best for the senior, not what is easiest or most profitable. That's how we sleep at night—and how we've earned an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and 72+ Five-star reviews on our Google Business Profile and many 5-star reviews on Yelp.

California Law Requires Disclosure & We Embrace it as a Reputable Senior Placement Agency

California regulates referral agencies for long-term care facilities under Health & Safety Code sections 1400–1413. Newer legislation has added specific protections for families using RCFE referral services.

Key points from current and emerging rules:

  • Placement agencies are increasingly required to disclose their financial relationships with facilities and keep records of those disclosures
  • The goal is to protect consumers from undisclosed conflicts of interest

We embrace these protections. Our practice is to tell you plainly who pays us, when, and how that works, so you can make an informed decision. We believe these regulations protect seniors and their families and we're glad they exist.

How We Explain "Services Are Free to Families" in Plain Terms

We usually say it like this:

"Our time and guidance are no charge to you. We're compensated by the senior living community after your loved one moves in, from their marketing budget. Your monthly rent does not increase because of our involvement."

So when we say our services are free to families, we mean:

  • You don't pay us
  • Assisted living communities pay us a standard referral fee after move-in of the new resident
  • Our job is to ensure that nothing about our compensation ever influences the guidance we give.

Your loved one's well-being, and our integrity, always come first

We've Declined Relationships with Some Assisted Living Facilities to Protect Families

Yes—protecting families comes first, always.

If a living community's care standards, communication, licensing history, or treatment of residents does not align with our expectations, we either do not pursue a referral agreement or stop referring there. Even if they are willing to pay.

We would rather walk away from a contract than put a vulnerable senior into a place we wouldn't choose for our own family. This has happened. We've said no to money because the community didn't meet our standards for the best care.

That's the difference between a local placement service that cares about reputation and one that cares about commissions.
